Bridging Energy and Spatial Planning in Europe for 2030

The development of energy production and consumption in European regions for 2030 will be the issue discussed in the first of three workshops run in the context of the RERISK Project. This workshop brings together experts in the fields of energy, industrial management, transport and spatial planning to systematically identify priority issues in energy and regional planning which may impact future regional policy in Europe. By understanding the interdependencies between regions’ spatial/structural characteristics and energy production and consumption we also seek to shed light on the potential problems and opportunities which may impact regional competitiveness as a consequence of rising energy prices.
